A Garden Refresh

The Brief

The owners of this garden wanted the borders brought back to their former glory and for there to be seasonal interest throughout the year. This secret part of the garden is separated by a river from the main grounds and opens up from a woodland walk filled spring flowers.

The Solution

The borders were filled with lots of flowers, but not necessarily in the right place, so the first job was to carry out a garden audit, making notes of what plants were thriving or struggling. I also assessed the state of soil and drainage and kept an eye open for pests and diseases.

Throughout the process I had in-depth conversations with the owners about what they liked (or not), so we could really make the garden work for them. We moved existing plants to new locations and divided overgrown clumps into new smaller groups, plus of course, adding a few new favourites.
